I've read 9 of your 12 parts on the Short Course and it's been great. You wrote about cherished beliefs and how hard they to let go of, and then you mentioned cigarettes. Here's radically different take on cigarettes that most people will call heresy.
Francis is a woman in her mid 70's, been a serious hardcore activist for over 50 years, and has opened my eyes on quite a few subjects. With your writing I can see that happening as well. The one thing for me that stands out over the past 4.5 years is that everything and I mean everything needs to be questioned. I've become a history revisionist. I believe one of the reasons why we keep committing the same mistakes is because we've never been taught what the actual truth was about anything. The Vaccines are an example. So are most of the wars we've been involved with and an interesting fact about cigarettes. Enjoy Francis work, and I plan on sharing your work her and others.
I try to not use the term of disparagement, "anecdotal," that debunkers and establishment defenders use, but the statistics are clear that smokers live about ten years less than non-smokers, which should not be surprising. My work aims far higher than Francis's does. The idea that smoking "inoculates" against radiation is way out there. How about no radiation and no smoking instead. :)
“…the corruption of the scientific process itself. That has always been a blind spot amongst the left.”
Yes indeed. This was excruciatingly evident for COVID as much of the left — from liberals to self-described Marxists — were clamoring for the injection and promoting such fallacies as “vaccine equity” to push it onto “under served” populations.
To this day few of them have relented despite overwhelming evidence of harm.

Hi James:
I try to not use the term of disparagement, "anecdotal," that debunkers and establishment defenders use, but the statistics are clear that smokers live about ten years less than non-smokers, which should not be surprising. My work aims far higher than Francis's does. The idea that smoking "inoculates" against radiation is way out there. How about no radiation and no smoking instead. :)

My COVID post is coming. :)
