The thought that keeps cycling in my mind is that ‘all wars are energy wars’. It sounds trite but, in the final analysis, is the truth.

The possibility that humanity has the capability to derive energy through “harvesting the plenum” rather than through explosive reactions (which is what is essentially done via fossil fuels, the by product of which is toxic to ourselves and the biosphere) while we witness what could be the final drama in the human journey is painful to endure.

What we are witnessing can be thought of as the fruits of the suppression of this alternative by the various cartels which you describe.

Yes, the suppression is definitely part of the picture, but humanity's inertia has been the greatest contributor in my experience. The suppression activities are relatively mild. if only 5,000 people woke up and learned to sing the song, this entire issue would be easily remedied. That is one person out of every 1.6 million on the planet. Those seem like good odds, don't they? :)

Yes, in the end, they are, waged by energy and for energy.

All wars are about energy directly or energy-created/delivered resources (plants/trees/food, freshwater, minerals). Even when politicians cite other reasons, they are always ancillary.

The Iran war is officially about Iran, nuclear energy, and its potential weaponization, which the USA and Israel have already done, in mind-boggling hypocrisy. To try to limit Iran's nuclear ability instantly spilled over into oil, which is the black gold of industrial economies. It is all about energy, and very explicitly in this case.

If Iran starts wiping out desalination plants, it will become even more explicit. The sun-powered hydrological cycle is the source of all of this world's natural freshwater. Desalination is about cutting out the Sun from the process, which of course, needs prodigious amounts of energy. When people begin thinking in terms of the physical reality, it quickly becomes ALL about energy, and the motives of politicians and the like become very clear, even if they lie about it or are not always conscious of it. It is about real economics, which is always rooted in energy.

Understand that, and the urgency to resolve the energy issue, once and for all, becomes obvious.
